IN YEONGHYE X MINIYU

In Yeonghye explores the interactions of the inner human world through soft sculptures that transcend traditional barriers of function and medium. Her lumpy, hand-knitted artworks invite visitors to sit, lie on, lean against, and/or touch them. By encouraging physical engagement, she hopes her creations offer a rich sensory experience through close engagement and connection with the audience. Her works have been showcased at the Daejeon Museum of Art, Cheongju Craft Biennale, and Craft Trend Fair and, more recently, in solo exhibitions at Foundry Seoul and Younhyun Trading.

Korea’s first ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) artist, Miniyu, provides solace and emotional healing to the busy people of today’s modern world through ASMR videos that are experienced through seeing, hearing, and connecting emotionally. For 11 years, her content has presented viewers with a uniquely relaxing experience through her warm tone of voice, fluid hand motions, and wide range of comforting ASMR sounds. She featured an ASMR performance for a program at MMCA Seoul with the exhibition Watch and Chill 2.0: Streaming Senses and collaborated with Cheongwadae, Korea’s presidential residence, on an ASMR project. Miniyu is also the author of three essay collections (I Will Stay with You on Those Sleepless Nights, The Long Dawn Comes to an End, and Sounds for Your Nights)[T1] who is moving beyond YouTube to promote ASMR in other mediums.
